KEY FEATURES - Small, lightweight, versatile sync sound camera - Quick conversion between Studio, Handheld, and Steadicam™ modes - New higher speed range of 3-50 fps - XLV video assist - New 24 fps /172.8° fixed position - Updated electronics and mechanics AN EVEN BETTER CAMERA The widespread release of the XL2 is the latest step in Panavision’s pursuit of excellence in 35mm film camera design. Thanks to the encouragement and suggestions of cinematographers, directors, operators, and camera assistants around the world, we have improved the Millennium® XL with faster speeds, better video, improved ergonomics and new mechanics: - The XL2 can now run crystal-controlled speeds from three to fifty frames per second - The XLV, a completely new, advanced integrated video assist system in both NTSC and PAL versions, provides brighter and sharper images even at very low light levels - A new preset speed position, 24 fps/ 172.8° has been added to the dial on the rear control panel to make it more convenient to shoot 24fps in 50Hz regions - A 50 fps / 180° shutter has also been added to the preset dial - Under the hood, the XL2 uses completely new motors, which enable 50 fps and improve cold weather performance - The XL2 also includes a number of mechanical and electronic “tweaks” for more reliable and efficient operation. A PANAVISION CAMERA Of course, the XL2 retains all of the breakthrough features of its predecessor, the Millennium® XL. Hundreds of films around the world have already been shot with the Millennium XL, and filmmakers value it as a light, quiet camera that easily converts between studio, handheld and Steadicam mode. Like all Panavision cameras, the XL2 is designed for use with the unmatched range of Academy Award® winning Primo® prime and zoom lenses, and Panavision anamorphics, as well as hundreds of Panavision’s proprietary accessories. Like all Panaflex cameras, the XL2 offers a behind-the-lens gel filter slot, so you can use ND filters without darkening the viewfinder image, when shooting outside. The XL2 can accommodate all of the 3-perf and 4-perf 35mm formats, including anamorphic, 1.85, and Super Panavision 35 (for 2.40, 1.78 or 1.33 TV release). SPECIFICATIONS - New speed range of 3–50 fps, all crystal-controlled speeds in 1/10 fps increments - New XLV advanced integrated video assist provides brighter, sharper images - New 24 fps / 172.8° preset speed position - New 50 fps / 180° preset speed position - New dual drive motors for shutter and movement, easily re-timed for effects - 35mm sync-sound camera with 3 different configurations for studio, handheld and Steadicam use - Camera body weighs 11.8 lbs./5.35 kg. - Remote one-touch speed/shutter ramping control - Fast and easy configuration change - In-shot variable 11.2–180° shutter - Full-sized, full-speed rotating reflex mirror - Behind-the-lens gel filter slot - Wired or wireless remote control - In-shot speed ramping from 3-50fps in 4 seconds
